Setting up Windows 10 Professional 32/64-bit? This guide shows you how to download the installation files, install from USB or DVD, and activate your license key — step by step.

✅ Before You Begin

Make sure your PC meets the minimum specs:

  • 1 GHz processor or faster

  • 2 GB RAM (32-bit) / 4 GB RAM (64-bit)

  • 20–32 GB available storage

  • UEFI/BIOS with bootable USB or DVD support

  • Internet access for activation

💡 Step 1: Download the Media Creation Tool

Create installation media:

  1. Run the tool as Administrator

  2. Select Create installation media for another PC

  3. Choose:

    • Language

    • Edition: Windows 10

    • Architecture: 32-bit, 64-bit, or Both

  4. Choose your media:

    • USB flash drive (8 GB or more)

    • ISO file to burn to DVD later

  5. Click Finish when done

💻 Step 2: Install Windows 10 Pro

  1. Insert the USB or DVD into the PC

  2. Shut down and restart the computer

  3. Press boot key (F2, F12, Delete, Esc) to access boot menu

  4. Boot from USB/DVD

  5. On the “Install Windows” screen, set your language, time, and input

  6. Click Install Now

  7. Enter your product key when prompted

  8. Accept license terms > Click Next

  9. Select Custom: Install Windows only

  10. Choose a drive/partition > Format if necessary > Click Next

🧠 If your PC boots into the old OS, shut it down fully before retrying boot from USB/DVD.

Upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro

If you’re running Windows 10 Home, follow these steps:

  1. Restart your device

  2. Disconnect from the internet

  3. Go to Settings > System > Activation

  4. Click Change Product Key

  5. Enter this upgrade key:
    VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
    ⚠️ This is not your activation key — only a temporary upgrade key.

  6. Let the system upgrade to Pro

  7. Reconnect to the internet

  8. Go back to Settings > System > Activation

  9. Click Change Product Key again and enter your Windows 10 Pro license key

🔐 Step 3: Activate Windows 10 Pro

Most systems will activate automatically online after setup.

✅Online Activation Steps:

  1. Go to Settings → Update & Security → Activation
    (Press Windows Key + I, then go to Update & Security → Activation)
  2. Click “Change product key”
    Enter your 25-character license key and press Next.

  3. Click “Activate”
    Windows will connect to Microsoft servers and activate your system.

✅ Once successful, Windows will display “Windows is activated.”
